Spotting this found composition in an alley next to a café in Paris hit two of my hot buttons: abstract composition and textured realistic objects. The chairs, though not usually an exciting subject, stacked in this fashion made for a dynamic textural drawing. The International Guild of Realism recognized “St. Germain Café Chairs” as “Best of Show” in their Leading Masters of Contemporary Realism juried exhibition in Cape Cod.
