This painting was a breakthrough for me as a painter. The difficulty in seeing and painting the colors and shapes of the glass doorknobs and the patinas on metal hardware was challenging. The downward trajectory of the doorknobs with a knob style that has fallen out of favor prompted the title “Fall from Grace.” Unfortunately it was lost (or stolen) in transit from a show on the east coast.
